How Ghent Arrests Are Routed
Ghent is one of five incorporated cities in Carroll County. Local government directories list a city contact. They list no independent Ghent police department. No city arrest roster, daily bulletin, booking page, or mugshot feed exists either. That points to a dispatch-first search path. It does not rule out patrols or arrests near Ghent by some other agency.
A deputy, a state officer, or another authorized office can create the incident record. If the arrested person goes to the Carroll County Regional Detention Center, the jail takes over. It builds the booking record there. Agency and jail are separate custodians. A city name alone never tells you which office holds the report you want.
Where Ghent Recent Arrests Appear
Start with official county and state sources. Carroll County Dispatch can name the responding agency. The jail's JailTracker handoff shows a current inmate record. VINE reports custody status and sends alerts, while CourtNet and the clerk carry the record after release. News outlets and private archives stay secondary.
| Source | Use | Key boundary |
|---|---|---|
| County dispatch | Identify the likely responding agency | Not a roster or records archive |
| JailTracker | Check present county custody | Countywide and current-only |
| Kentucky VINE | Status and release or transfer alerts | Not a booking-photo record |
| CourtNet and clerk | Case events and disposition | Requires careful identity matching |
| News or private archive | Possible date or spelling lead | Unofficial or incomplete; verify |
A person cited and released may never show up on the current-inmate list. Transfers and out-of-county holds vanish from it too. "Not found" is a result, not proof the arrest never happened.
Finding Someone Arrested in Ghent
Ghent has no separate online police channel, so begin with the agency rather than an assumed city roster. Keep the full name and event date close at hand. Two records can share one name. Compare extra identifiers before assuming they match.
- Call Carroll County Dispatch at (502) 732-6621 and ask which agency handled the incident. Use 911 only for an active emergency.
- If county-jail custody is possible, follow the official facility Current Inmates link into JailTracker.
- If the arrest was recent, account for intake and data-entry time. Carroll County publishes no refresh promise.
- Check Kentucky VINE for a matching custody record, release status, or alert option.
- Use Kentucky CourtNet and the Carroll Circuit Court Clerk to follow the charge to its disposition.
The full county search path lives on the Carroll County recent-arrests hub. It explains the difference between a jail roster and a historical booking record, and why photo availability shifts over time.
Note: The county roster is not a Ghent feed, so it cannot show every citation, prior release, transfer, or arrest handled elsewhere.
Ghent Arrest Record Requests
Ghent publishes no police request form. No booking-photo form, fee schedule, or retention period either. The Carroll PVA additional-contacts page lists a City of Ghent phone number. Treat that as a contact lead, not proof. Dispatch is the better first call. It points you toward the right agency for arrest and booking records.
- Ask dispatch which agency created the incident or arrest report.
- Contact that agency and confirm its records custodian and accepted request route.
- Submit a precise written request for an existing record under the Kentucky Open Records Act.
- For a jail booking sheet or photo, confirm that the Carroll County detention center held the person before routing the request.
- For the case result, request the docket from the clerk rather than inferring it from booking charges.

Carroll County Sheriff’s Office
440 Main Street, 1st Floor Courthouse
Carrollton, KY 41008

Name the person, date, location, and record type in any request. Assume no photo fee until told otherwise. A phone call can help route it. It cannot replace a written open-records request.
Ghent Arrests and JailTracker Timing
The custody path starts at the county detention page. It moves to the facility site, then follows its Current Inmates link to JailTracker. The vendor roster loads in the browser. The county posts no update interval. A new booking may lag until intake and entry finish. Weekend and holiday refresh patterns go unpublished too.
The facility handoff is visible on the Current Inmates source page:

That page marks where a Ghent custody search begins. It offers no Ghent-only list, and not everyone arrested near the city lands in that jail.
A roster entry can vanish after release. The agency file and court record live on. VINE can flag a custody change, while a written request works better for a booking record no longer posted publicly.
Ghent Cases After Arrest
The Carroll County Court of Justice page links to Find a Case through CourtNet and names the Circuit Court Clerk's office. Court records show arraignment, motions, future dates, dismissal, plea, trial result, or sentence. For what happened after booking, they beat the roster every time.
- Arrest report
- The responding agency’s account of the incident and enforcement action.
- Booking record
- The jail’s administrative custody entry.
- Bond
- A court-set condition or means of release.
- Disposition
- The recorded outcome of the case.
A sentenced person moved to state custody belongs in Kentucky DOC's KOOL system. Federal or immigration questions need the matching federal locator. Neither belongs on a county roster, and neither is a Ghent police list.
Countywide Ghent Arrest Coverage
Carroll County's News-Democrat court-news archive covers the whole county, Ghent included. New notices appear weekly. The archive tracks court events rather than arrests, so it can trail a Ghent booking by days. Use the official public-notice search page to look up entries yourself.

A few private sites organize Ghent arrest data at the county level. Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, Arrests.org, and Mugshots.com all run pages. Some of these pages sometimes carry a Ghent label. These are unofficial archives. Their entries can mix jail bookings with court cases, probation records, and material from other agencies. Treat anything you find there as a lead. Confirm each name against the county roster. You can also check the court or the arresting agency before relying on it.
